Coming home June 12

Praise God! Blair and I just booked our flight home this summer. We had been quoted the price of $1650 per ticket, which we were freaking out over. We didn't know what to do, because we knew we were coming home. After going back and forth, my travel agent said if we flew into Atlanta we could get the ticket down to $900 a piece. It's not ideal, but at least we're going to save a ton of money. This is the longest either of us has gone without coming home. We have a gigantic list of things we want to do and stuff to buy. More than anything, we are dying to see our dog. It feels so good to actually have my tickets booked and to know I will see my sweet puppy in 2 1/2 months!

You may notice a trend as you read our blog, we never eat at home. That's pretty typical for living here, unless you have a live-in helper (someone that serves as your nanny, cook, and maid). The families that have a helper, have all their meals prepared for them. Buying groceries and eating out is pretty much the same price, so we just assume skip washing dishes and go out.

Still dancing!

Even though I traded in my dance shoes for a gigantic stack of papers to grade, God has created some opportunities for me to keep dancing. Every Wednesday I teach a ballroom class to some of my fellow teachers. It's a great chance for me to brush up my skills and keep the steps fresh in my mind. The best part is that Blair acts as my assistant. He knows the basics and helps balance the boy/girl ratio. Surprisingly, he really enjoys it, especially when he gets to show the proper way to do a step.
My friend Abbie, the drama teacher, asked me to help choreograph a few numbers for the middle school production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie". I love that musical, it's all 1920's! I've been teaching the kids the routines on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have so much fun seeing it all come together. They learn really fast.
Not only that, but I take 2 hip hop classes on Tuesday evenings. My teacher has taught at the Broadway Dance Studio in New York and has performed with so many current singers. I've never liked hip hop, until now, because I don't know how to have that hip hop swagger, but I'm getting better. My teacher picks really great music, like Timberland, Lady Gaga, Nelly Furtado, and Neyo. She teaches us routines like you see on So You Think You Can Dance. Several other friends go with me and we always get an incredible work out. I use to take private ballroom lessons before my hip hop class, but now that I help with the musical, I'm taking a break. I'm just thrilled to have an outlet for dance! I didn't want to give up that part of my life, when I started teaching again. Thanks God for opening so many doors.

We just booked a trip to Taiwan!

We're leaving at the end of March for our Spring Break trip to Taiwan. Blair's mom is going to come March 23 and she will go with us to Taipei for 5 days. It's only a 1.5 hour flight from Hong Kong and the ticket was only $180. Too bad the flight arrives in the middle of the night and I couldn't fit on the flight, so Blair and his mom will arrive a few hours before me. I'll do just about anything to save money, though. Can't wait to see where Julia's mom is from :)! Any suggestions?
